The objectives of ICNS-9 are

• to provide the principal forum in 2011 for researchers, engineers and industrialists to share pioneering results and ideas in the field of III-nitride semiconductors

• to assemble an exceptional list of plenary and invited speakers to inspire and inform the international III-nitride community

• to cover all significant advancements in III-nitride research and development through oral and poster sessions

• to deliver a top-class exhibition of products and information relating to III-nitrides with the best possible interaction between suppliers and workers in this field.

• to promote the education of a large number of research students working in the area of nitride semiconductors, allowing them to present their work and also interact with experts in the field.

• to provide a stimulating environment for research discussion on contentious scientific issues through rump sessions designed to engage the audience, and opportunities for informal discussion through social events
